Houston Audubon staff celebrated National Bird Day on January 5th by presenting a full day of bird education programs to the students at the Alief Jefferson Early Learning Center. The Center provides opportunities for students who otherwise don't have regular access to nature to experience the outdoors and the natural ecosystems of our region. Our staff were able to expose 400 children to the wonder of birds by handling feathers, viewing eggs and nests, practicing bird calls, and getting active through birdy movement activities.
