Liestman Families-
We are proud to share that Liestman met it's family engagement goal for 23-24. Our target was at least 2 documented interactions between the school and home for 89% of our families. This percentage represents a lot of programming on behalf of the school and participation on behalf of our parents. Our goal for May 2025 is to increase engagement by 5% or target 94% of our families.
At the beginning of each month we will provide you with an overview of district and campus events and parent-school committee meetings to help you organize and plan out your family calendar each month.
To also help our students with developing organization and planning skills, we have set as one of our AVID goals that 100% of all students in 2nd- 4th use a student planner to practice such skills as writing down assignments, using timelines to manage tasks, and calendaring special events. We ask that students share their calendar with you every day and that you review and reinforce these important life-long skills. I've attached a one-pager that further explains roles and responsibilities for the student planner.
We are launching, at Liestman, a new family engagement strategy for 24-25 called All Pro Dads. All Pro Dad is a national program with 1,000 chapters across 42 states that inspires men to embrace their roles as dads and husbands. It provides guidance, support, and practical tips on parenting and family life through training, events, and emails. Spread the word, we want all of our Liestman dads to participate.
